But I think that I'm more scared to wait until 38 weeks and not have one at all. I can't believe that Natalie is going to be here so soon!! Hang in there, mama :)Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07471420264228948843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10899728.post-28056924394091917352007-08-13T08:21:00.000-07:002007-08-13T08:21:00.000-07:00Never had one - I was very freaked out for all 3 o...Never had one - I was very freaked out for all 3 of my epidurals, though, and that's also a huge needle. It doesn't matter how many other needles there are!

Thinking of you!Alli and Frankiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11930039680410785380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10899728.post-76903579706879697952007-08-12T20:14:00.000-07:002007-08-12T20:14:00.000-07:00I had an amnio in mid june (and proceeded not to b...I had an amnio in mid june (and proceeded not to blog about it) and I didn't think it was horrible, but I didn't like it. They did a few shots of lidacane first so the amnio needle didn't hurt going in, but you do feel some strange uncomfortable things from the inside (i'm assuming this was some form of cramps). I've been told that further along they are less uncomfortable than the ones in mid-pregnancy.

Very exciting about having a date... I'm looking forward to scheduling mine in sometime in the next few weeks. :)SWHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06571144622886527378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10899728.post-63403904288363211712007-08-11T14:40:00.000-07:002007-08-11T14:40:00.000-07:00Honestly? The needle doesn't hurt at all going into the abdomen (I guess there aren't that many nerve cells there) but it did pinch a bit when going into the uterus. That's just a little moment, though, and from then on it's just fascinating watching the monitor.

Good thing you have a date now. I'm keeping all crossables crossed for you and Natalie.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12561553734117580411noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10899728.post-80425116512856751012007-08-09T18:03:00.000-07:002007-08-09T18:03:00.000-07:00OMG Michelle, now it's my turn to be teacher! I h...OMG Michelle, now it's my turn to be teacher! I had an amnio with Jimmy after he was diagnosed with SUA (single umbilical artery). It did not hurt, however do NOT watch the needle go into your belly. The perinatologist will insert the needle while a tech holds the ultrasound wand. The perinatologist will watch the needle on the monitor so it does not strike the baby. I suggest you either watch the monitor or watch your husband, mother.. who ever goes with you. There is a slight pinching sensation, but that is it. You will probably feel a few slight cramps afterwards. You can do it... just remember what it is for!Mrs. Collinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13572508460850412007noreply@blogger.com
