Thanks. But I'm still sorry. I should've stuck with my first instinct to not comment at all. Your post made me sad for you. The comment that anyone not staying home is "shuffling their child off"...well...quite honestly...it pissed me off. The implication that children cannot be happy just because their mother can't stay home...that they will be "sad and hollow"...is unbelievable. The idea that you are somehow not doing what is best for your child so you can go out to eat or drive a newer car is the kind of judgment I THOUGHT enlightened women left behind a long time ago. You were obviously already feeling bad, and it irritated me that any commenter (be it a lifelong friend or not), would feel it necessary to add and extra burden to what you were already carrying.

If your finances are anything like ours, your working is a necessity. No, it's not perfect...and it's not even the way you want it...but I KNOW you are doing everything you can to provide for your family in the best way you can. You should be able to feel sad about what you miss without being made to feel guilty on top of it. I've missed moments with Sam too. But I can provide a house and food that I otherwise wouldn't be able to provide. I wish I could be there for the moments...but not at the cost of being homeless and hungry. And for ANYONE to make judgments about me, without recognizing WHY I do what I do...well...they can take a flying leap for all I care.

**and no...never get on my bad side...I'm half Polish and we know how to rant and rave with the best of 'em. :o)
